Specific FCD Crystal Management is a diet food to prevent struvite and calcium oxalate formation in overweight cats.
Specific FCD Crystal Management Light is a special dietary food for cats that dissolves and prevents recurrences of struvite and calcium-oxalate buildup in the kidneys. Furthermore it has a reduced energetic content, meaning it is suitable for cats that are prone to be overweight. The meal is formed in such a way that it halts the supply for kidney stones to form. Certain minerals are too heavy for some cat's kidney's to completely dissolve. Combine this with a lower water intake and the mineral residues can stick to the tissue causing tremendous pains. As they increase in size, the discomfort grows. Specific FCD Crystal Management Light reduces the intake of these minerals (phosporus and magnesium) whilst sustaining the recommended doses to keep the body functioning properly. Another way the food tackles kidney stones is by acidifying the urine to slowly dissolve the mineral buildups in the urinary tract before they can ever latch on to any tissue.
